Leisure Services

We are a Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) registered provision for up to a maximum of 40 children per day.  The setting is a purpose built , one storey, special needs school & resource centre with rooms, bathrooms, changing areas, outdoor areas, playgrounds suitable for foundation phase, curriculum and older age group. We aim to provide high quality, out of school care, play based provision. We provide for pupils of Trinity Fields school only aged  4- 17 years old. All children and young people have severe/ complex, learning and physical disabilities and difficulties.

Trinity Fields Leisure Services has historically run schemes for 8-17 year olds on the same site and usually at the same time. The schemes had been spilt to make sessions and activities age appropriate. The service has expanded, in recent years, with the addition of under 8’s which has increased the number of children & young people who can access services. Applications can be submitted by parents of children at Trinity Fields School and will be allocated based on a criteria system.

We recognise school focuses on education for all children and young people who attend Trinity Fields school.  We, in partnership with children with disabilities team, are relaunching the service.  We are focusing on play, social communication and skills.

We are piloting a number different programmes, this year, including a series of supported play sessions, directed workshops and courses. Play is one of the best ways for children to learn, including the progression of social skills and transferable life skills. This is not a respite or child minding service but a child and play based environment. The staff team are enhanced play workers and play work principles and approaches underpin all sessions.
